The Art Berg Fund was created to provide grants to 501(c)3 organizations in which an NSA member is involved as an active volunteer for use in a technology-related project that enhances communication for the benefit of the clients of the non-profit organization.

Examples of the types of projects eligible for funding include but are not limited to the following:  

• Create and distribute free audio packages to the blind. 
• Provide software or hardware to an after-school program, shelter, transitional house, etc.
• Develop a wireless project to connect at-risk children and/or their parents to 911 hotlines.
• Offer a training program in sign language to parents or siblings of the deaf.
• Develop and maintain an online community  "chat room" for foster children who meet at "camp" and wish to remain connected.
